Remembering information starts with attention.
The Switch On strategy is designed to develop students’ ability to pay attention in the classroom so they can remember information better. When integrated into the classroom context, the Switch On strategy is a useful tool for helping students to prompt themselves to pay attention.

When introducing this strategy in class you may like to encourage students to recall where they have seen the switch on logo in their everyday lives (e.g. iPad, interactive whiteboard, computer, gaming technology and printer). Once students have responded provide additional examples, as necessary.
