Forgotten

Outlines steps to follow if students have forgotten what to do or do not understand something
The Forgotten? strategy is designed as the final steps to be followed when a student is aware that they do not know what to do.
Show students the Forgotten? icon. It is best for students to have access to a laminated copy of the Forgotten? icon on their desk, as it serves as a reminder to students to refer to Memory Mates strategies which are:
- Look at the board
- Re-read the instructions
- Ask my memory coach
- Ask the teacher for help
To introduce the icon, students read each bullet point, which outlines the steps they can follow. Sometimes students can get back to their desk and forget what to do. Notice that asking the teacher for help is the last option. These are the independent steps to try before speaking to the teacher.
