Memory Supports

What things can I do to help remember?

Main Concept

To encourage students to use resources located in the classroom to help solve problems

Memory Supports functions to minimise demands on students’ working memory, including the processing and retention of content.

Show students the Memory Supports icon, and explain the purpose of tying a bow around your finger as a reminder. This icon can be used to encourage students to use resources located in classroom to help solve problems (e.g. 100s chart, counters, notes with key steps). The image can lead to discussion around how students set reminders for themselves (e.g. setting an alarm as a reminder on a mobile phone).
